Services & pricing

Real prices,
published.

Hiding prices wastes everyone's time. These anchors are what the smallest credible version of each engagement costs — bespoke scope is quoted in writing after a short discovery.

The ladder§ 01
01

Premium marketing site

A fast, conversion-built site that makes a small company look like the most credible option in the room. Designed and engineered by the same hands.

Fixed scope, fixed price · typical 2–4 weeks

  • Positioning workshop and full copywriting
  • Bespoke design — no templates, no page builders
  • Next.js build with Core Web Vitals in the green
  • Qualification funnel wired to your inbox and calendar
  • Analytics, SEO foundations and launch on Vercel

from £4,500

02

Custom web application

Most booked

Production software with real users in it: dashboards, portals, internal tools, SaaS products. Built to be maintained, not rescued.

Scoped in a one-week discovery · typical 6–12 weeks

  • One-week paid discovery with a fixed quote at the end
  • Auth, payments, integrations and admin done properly
  • Type-safe stack: Next.js, Postgres, tested server logic
  • Staging environment and CI from week one
  • Handover docs and a recorded architecture walkthrough

from £18,000

03

AI agent / RAG build

Retrieval over your real documents, agents that take real actions, evaluated against your real questions — not a chat widget bolted to a prompt.

API-first builds, not model training · typical 4–8 weeks

  • Use-case scoping against your actual data
  • Retrieval pipeline with measured answer quality
  • Tool-calling agents with guardrailed actions
  • Evaluation harness so regressions are caught, not felt
  • Running-cost model before you commit to production

from £12,000

04

Autonomous platform

Multi-agent systems that run a process end-to-end — orchestration, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, observability and the boring reliability work that makes autonomy safe to ship.

Custom scope · qualification first · typical 3–6 months

  • Architecture sprint before any build commitment
  • Agent orchestration with durable, resumable execution
  • Human approval gates where the stakes demand them
  • Full observability: traces, costs, failure modes
  • Phased rollout with success metrics agreed up front
05

Care & iteration

Your product keeps getting better after launch. Monitoring, dependency updates, fixes within an agreed SLA, and a monthly block of iteration time.

Monthly, pause or cancel anytime · typical Ongoing

  • Uptime and error monitoring with alerting
  • Security patches and dependency updates
  • Agreed response SLA for fixes
  • Monthly iteration hours that roll into real features
  • Quarterly performance and cost review

from £450/mo

Honest answers§ 03
Who actually does the work?

The people you meet on the first call. Lathe is deliberately small and senior — nothing is delegated to juniors or outsourced overseas. That's the product.

Why do you publish prices?

Because hiding them wastes your time and ours. The anchors above are real: they're what the smallest credible version of each engagement costs. Bespoke work is quoted after a short discovery, against a written scope.

How fast can you start?

We run at most three engagements at once. Current availability is on the booking page — typically two to four weeks out. Enquiries get a reply within one UK business hour.

Do you train custom AI models?

Rarely, and only when the evidence demands it. Most products need well-engineered retrieval and tool use over frontier APIs — an order of magnitude cheaper, and faster to ship. We'll tell you plainly if your use case is the exception.

What happens after launch?

Every build includes 30 days of fixes. After that, most clients move to a Care plan; the rest get full handover docs and a walkthrough so any competent team can take over. No lock-in, ever.

We have a budget under £5k — should we still get in touch?

Yes — skip the form and book a call directly. If a productized tier fits, we'll say so; if not, we'll point you somewhere honest rather than upsell you.

Tell us what you're building.

Four short questions, then a call with the people who'd actually build it.

We reply within one UK business hour.
